Festival Co-Director Steve Baker has been closely involved in the organisation of the World Harmonica Festivals since the beginning in 1989.

His long career as a harp professional has taken him around the world and made him one of the most influential harp players of our time. His work as a live and studio musician, author of groundbreaking books, teacher and workshop leader has inspired and influenced a generation of young players in many countries. He has also worked as a consultant for Hohner since 1987 and has helped to shape many of the developments of this period.

Characterised by subtle, rhythmic phrasing, Steve's sound is clearly rooted in the blues tradition. However, he also incorporates elements of country, folk, rock and jazz. He thus creates an exciting and individual fusion with an emotional intensity that finds its way directly into the hearts of the audience.
